2ALegal is a small law firm with a dedicated practice focused on firearms laws in Puerto Rico. We understand self-defense and we will defend individuals who lawfully exercise their right to protect themselves. We also offer special legal services related to the second amendment rights at state and federal levels.
We focus on preventive law, following an individual approach with every client so he can be ready to deal with any situation he may encounter. In the event he has to defend himself, or others, he easily will prove he exercised his fundamental right to self-defense in a responsible and legal manner.
To ensure our firearms licensed clients prevail in any situation we offer advice, counseling and legal-practical training in self-defense, concealed carry and many other related subjects.
We also offer other services related to the firearms industry, including gun shops, gun ranges, firearms instructors and much more.
WHAT'S THE DIFFENCE?
In Puerto Rico no person who is not a lawyer authorized by the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico may practice law, nor advertise themselves as such, nor as a judicial agent, nor handle, except for their own affairs, any judicial or quasi-judicial matter before any judicial court. Violation of any of these provisions shall be considered and punished as a misdemeanor.
We are a law firm not an insurance company or a legal service, our clients receive attorney-client privilege and confidentiality in all communications between them and us members. They are fully protected by attorney-client privilege meaning that any conversations, legal strategies, or case details discussed with us are not discoverable and cannot be disclosed to third parties, including insurance companies, prosecutors, or opposing counsel.
We offer legal advice and counseling by state and federal attorneys that specifically work, study and receive continuous legal education related to firearms laws, second amendment, restoration of rights, and many other related issues.
We also follow the legislative process in any law that may affect your fundamental right to keep and bear arms.
THE BASICS OF SELF-DEFENSE IN PUERTO RICO
As stated in the Puerto Rico Penal Code, self-defense is a cause for exclusion of criminal and civil liability.
When the death of a human being occurs in a self-defense scenario, it is presumed by law that the actor's belief that, in killing the aggressor, he or the defended person was in imminent danger of death or serious bodily harm. The only way to refute this presumption is if the public prosecutor, in a court of law, produces evidence against it.
